1999 Grand marshal Richard KnightMr. Dick Clark has been a part of the Dublin community since the day he was born in 1932, growing up on his father's farm on Castleton Road and helping in the family store, Clark Equipment Company. He attended and graduated from Dublin School, a member of the Class of 1949, the last graduating class of Dublin High. After working at Aberdeen Proving Ground as a civilian employee and then as an Army draftee, Dick Clark followed his father's footsteps and began working full time at Clark Equipment Company. Dick Clark became President of the company in 1965 and changed the focus of the business more toward hardware and plumbing sales. With Mr. Clark at the helm the business has expanded several times in the past decades, always there to serve the needs of the community. Whenever Clark's hardware is mentioned all in the Dublin area think of Dick Clark. Mr. Clark has a reputation for always being there for the people of Dublin, young and old alike. Mr. Clark would make sure that if you needed a part you got the correct part and would even at times make a part himself if one was not available. Mr. Clark has shown support for Dublin Elementary School and the students by donating paint, boards, or other material for school plays and other functions. He was also Scout Master of Dublin Boy Scout Troop 301 from 1965 to 1971. Congratulations and Thank you Mr. Clark!
