1998 Grand marshal Mary DorneyMary Dorney has been a member of the Dublin community since her birth on June 4, 1930. Mrs. Dorney attended and graduated from Dublin High School. her three children Alan, Diane, and Jane attended Dublin Elementary School where Mrs. Dorney has been an Instructional Assistant since 1966. Mrs. Dorney has been an active member of the Dublin United Methodist Church for many years. She is a choir member and has taught Sunday School for a long while. In addition to her church related activities, Mrs. Dorney's support of and contributions to the Dublin community have included holding health and hygiene classes for the young mothers of the "Sawmill Hollow", being actively involved in the Dublin Alumni Association, and helping to organize the erection of the marquee and bell that now stand in front of Dublin Elementary School. Mrs. Dorney was also on the committee that wrote the history of Dublin School prior to its renovation. Mrs. Dorney is and always has been a very active member of the Dublin community and well deserves this honor. Congratulations and Thank you Mrs. Dorney!
